The population of Mount Prospect began increasing in the 1920’s and in the era following World War II when people began moving into the Suburban areas surrounding Chicago.

In the early 1960’s The Village took a huge step forward when the Randhurst Mall was built. At the time, the Randhurst Mall was the first indoor air-conditioned Mall in the Upper Midwest. In the 1990’s the downtown area began to be redeveloped. Many modern buildings were built which changed the look and feel of the downtown area. Today, Mount Prospect is a combination of residential developments, schools, churches, parks, and a modern Library. In 2017, Mount Prospect celebrated its 100th anniversary of The Village’s Incorporation.

All Preliminary Hearings for Mount Prospect criminal cases are at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse. Mount Prospect Preliminary Hearings are held in Room 108 throughout the weekdays.

Rolling Meadows felony cases start in Room 108 at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse. From there, Rolling Meadows felony cases will be assigned to either Room 109 or 110 at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.

All Mount Prospect Domestic Battery and Mount Prospect Aggravated Domestic Battery cases are heard in Room 207 of the Rolling Meadows Courthouse. Most Mount Prospect Domestic Battery cases are heard at 9:30 a.m. while the Mount Prospect Aggravated Domestic Battery cases are heard at 1:30. Room 207 in Rolling Meadows is a dedicated Domestic Battery Courtroom.

All Mount Prospect misdemeanor cases, such as Mount Prospect DUI cases, Mount Prospect Retail Theft cases, Mount Prospect Shoplifting cases, Mount Prospect Drug cases, Mount Prospect Theft cases, and Mount Prospect Battery cases are heard on particular days of the month on the first and second floor of the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.
