Park Ridge Criminal Law Information Center

Park Ridge is a City that is located in northeast Illinois. Park Ridge is a suburb of Chicago. Park Ridge is located approximately 17 miles Northwest of downtown Chicago, bordering several Chicago neighborhoods and very close to O’Hare International Airport. Park Ridge has a population of approximately 38,000 people.

The area was originally settled by Potawatomi Indians. French explorers used the area to dock their boats on the Des Plaines River as they used the Chicago River to get to and from Chicago. The area was originally settled in the 1830’s after the Potawatomi Indians were removed from the area. The original settlers were from New York and New England. The area consists of clay deposits, making it an ideal location to make the bricks needed to help develop the rapidly expanding City of Chicago. In 1853, George Penny set up a brick making facility in the area and the community was named Pennyville, after George Penny. A few years later, the name of the community was changed to Bricktown. George Penny brought Robert Meacham into the community as a partner in his brick making business. The Village of Schaumburg named Meacham Road, a major thoroughfare in Schaumburg, after Robert Meacham.

Shortly after the area was renamed Bricktown, the railroad arrived and the area was renamed Park Ridge because the land was located on a ridge. At the time, Park Ridge was an agricultural community. The arrival of the railroad led to a rapid expansion and growth in Park Ridge. Today, Park Ridge is mostly a residential community.

The Pickwick Theater, with its iconic Art Deco style, was built in 1928. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former first-lady of the United States, a former United States Senator from New York, and a former Democratic nominee for the presidency of the United States, was born and raised in Park Ridge.

I could not leave for Basic Training until the case was dismissed and Jim made some calls and got the case...
